The aluminum wing joiner rods are fabricated from 7075 T6 aircraft structual aluminum. Available sizes are 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, and 5/8 inches. Other sizes are available by special order. With the exception of the 3/8 and 7/16, the rods are drilled in the ends to a depth of 3 inches to reduce the weight. The nominal dihedral angle is 5 degrees, but the rods can be made with any dihedral angle. For a RES model the angle is likely to be 8-10 degrees. The 1/2 inch rod is 18 inches long and weighs 4.75 ounces. All the rods are guaranteed against breaking under normal use and have a limited guarantee against bending (taking a permanent set). Under extreme loads the rods may flex much like the wings of an airliner, but will return to their original shape when the load is released.
