These spar tubes are made from unidirectional carbon fiber. They are designed to be imbedded in foam or otherwise supported to provide the necessary structural strength. They can be used in open bay structures by drilling the appropriate sized hole in the ribs and glueing the ribs to the spar. The rods are manufactured with an inside diameter that is .003 inch larger than the joiner rod that will be used. The 1/2 inch ID tube is actually .503 and will accomodate a .500 joiner rod. Sizes include: 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 9/16 and 5/8 inches. Length is 30 inches.
